Steve has been with Martin Browne since 1983, his entire professional career. Steve's practice focuses on advising both for-profit and non-profit entities, their owners, directors/trustees and managers on general business and contract issues, board development and governance, and entity structural issues. He routinely advises small and medium sized business entrepreneurs and owners as to the formation of business entities and legal compliance following formation, as well as the transfer of ownership interests between owners or to third parties. A significant part of Steve's practice in recent years has been devoted to assisting clients with the purchase or sale of businesses and related financing issues. Steve also engages in estate planning and estate administration.

Throughout his career, Steve has spent a considerable portion of his time devoted to the Springfield community, serving on and representing the boards of directors of numerous organizations, and has had extensive experience in leadership roles, having chaired numerous boards.

​

Through his many activities, Steven has had the opportunity to meaningfully engage with many leading figures in the arts, charitable endeavors, and the business and health fields and has enjoyed being an active participant in the Springfield and Clark County communities, as well as Champaign and Greene counties.
